Time to take service seriously

[UPDATE: 3/8 – I visited my local Post Office and there is still a clock on the wall. I guess we’ll have to wait here in Utah to become “standardized” icon_wink.gif]

clock.jpgThe Houston Chronicle is reporting that the nation’s 37,000 United States Post Offices have removed their clocks from retail areas as part of a “retail standardization program” launched last year.

We want people to focus on postal service and not the clock,” said Stephen Seewoester, Dallas spokesman for the U.S. Postal Service.

“It’s silly,” said Leonard Berry, holder of the M.B. Zale Chair in Retail and Marketing Leadership. “I guess they think people don’t have watches.”

I guess the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is next on deck!
